Welcome to the 9th biennial Australian and New Zealand Falls Prevention Conference where our mantra is ‘Live Stronger for Longer’ underpinning our desire to promote strength, independence and wellbeing in ageing.
Our conference this year will be fully online, utilising a innovative new virtual conferencing software.
We’ll also run some in-person workshops located in the spectacular architectural gem, the Sir Owen G. Glenn Building, this conference is nestled at the heart of the University of Auckland’s campus in New Zealand’s beautiful ‘City of Sails’.
Falls are critical events in the lives of older people and people with specific diseases that threaten independence and diminish quality of life. They are, however, preventable. Bone health is also critical in considering the injury impact of falls. New ideas and the sharing of knowledge will enable better strategies for prevention, greater understanding of the processes leading to falls and injury, and more effective prevention and management in primary, secondary and tertiary care.
This conference will:
- Present world leading research and new evidence to drive practice;
- Provide professional upskilling to improve fall prevention;
- Enable community engagement and networking with colleagues, health providers, stakeholders and funders and planners.
